About Dr. Windell Gill, PSAP
Windell has more than twenty years of pastoral ministry counseling experience. His experience includes working with families and individuals on issues ranging from sexual identity to multiple addictions. He coaches individuals, couples, and families toward a holistic cognitive/emotional awareness that results in behavioral transformation. Windell serves as a consultant to local municipalities training adolescent offenders to make better choices by managing emotional impulses. He is a certified faculty member of the Emotional Intelligence Training and Research Institute, which presents emotional intelligence research promoting life transformation. Windell has conducted multiple seminars on emotional literacy for behavioral management and consults through SELAH4Life. His doctoral research identified the impact of emotional labor on well-being and found specific behavioral mechanisms necessary for maintaining positive health when undergoing life stresses.
Dr. Gill earned a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary, a Master of Science in Education from University of Houston at Clear Lake, and a Doctorate in Education from Lamar University. He trained through the International Association of Trauma and Addiction Professionals and is a Certified Pastoral Sex Addiction Professional. He has also trained through the Thinking Collaborative in Cognitive Coaching, which is a research-based model to enhance cognitive processes that support self-managing, self-monitoring and self-modifying behavior.
